All themes look wrong

Terms:

Hi, I've just installed the latest public Drupal Commons on my site that is a hosted one with Linux/Apache

Usually drupal installations goes all fine and dandy on my host, but DP timed out a few times during installation, but I finally got it installed.

Now after the install the themes all look like they are not using the css files or something like that, it's all tekst and no praphics at all as you can see on the site: http://foothold-linux.org

I have checked that the Skinr module and etc are activated, witch they are, the Default theme is activated and default and the fusion theme is also active.

To recap, this is post install, no configuring/changes done at all and still it looks pretty aweful with any theme.. Any ideas ?

Edit: I'm trying to do the install again with reuploaded files, must have been something in the previous install that got borked?

Edit again: This issue and the solution are described here: http://network.acquia.com/node/1390520#comment-54870

.htaccess

I could not fix the problem so far... Maybe it´s because of the .htaccess file. I deleted this file in the root directory in order to be able to access the install site (I´am using shared webhosting).
Could the deleted file be the problem? Thanks for you help!
