Free Alternatives to Acquia Commons Themes

Hi,

Just wanted to share some free themes available on drupal.org themes section which are quite close in compatibility to Acquia Commons installation profile.

This is offcourse without considering any i. additional changes in theme files or ii. duplicating Acquia Commons CSS and Panels & theming into your theme or iii. making a sub theme of Acquia Commons.

Tarski - http://drupal.org/project/tarski

Some of these themes may require a bit of works with Panels and blocks.

Did you test all of this theme on fresh Acquia installation ?

Would you want to share some screenshots or tell us a little more about the needed with Panels and blocks for "

further testing and compatible release need to be made by Acquia

I have not tested it. Just installed and seen whether the theme is breaking or not, shows most content.

See my observations below:

Cleanr - It is mainly an administration theme. Not for your website viewers.

Acquia Prosper - It is the one i am using, as I like it the most. The only problems I saw was in User Login Block and Group Page Layout. User login block does not float to the right, while Groups home pages shows irregular widths for the sub-sections. You can use Skinr to float the user login block to the right, however when logged off it still shows a big user login block to the left, and pushes the header width  and the navigation menu further down.

960 Robots and Tarski themes work fine.
