How to activate Drupal Commons using the acquia drupal .deb packages for ubuntu/debian?

It's not obvious to me how to get commons working using the ubuntu/debian .deb package. I installed the .deb but it starts up in a default configuration with no commons modules installed, as far as i can tell.
Is there a supermodule or something that I need to install? thanks for the help!
