Shoutbox Notifications

I have added shout box to user profiles as a sort of simple wall.  Eveything works great, but is there a way to add notifications so that users would be able to alerted when getting a new comment?

Did you enable shoutbox_user?

Did you enable shoutbox_user? It doesn't provide notifications, but I'm curious, because it doesn't come enabled with Commons.

Yes I did, but the

Yes I did, but the notification didn't seem to work.  I ended up just going with the  Facebook-style Statuses module, that way I would be able to just use rules to send the notifications.
