acquia_commons is based on the Fusion base theme from Top Notch Themes.

Here are some things to keep in mind as you use it:

Preserving panels

The theme defines page layouts using Panels. If you want to customize your acquia_commons theme by creating a sub-theme, be sure to leave the acquia_commons theme enabled (though not set as the active theme.)  This will cause your subtheme to use the panel layouts defined by acquia_commons.
